Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Carpenter Assistant to support our team in various construction and renovation projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside skilled professionals, assisting with a wide range of tasks that contribute to successful project completion. As a Carpenter Assistant, you will play a vital part in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Support deck and shed construction, including framing, joist installation, decking, roofing, siding, stairs, railings, and finishing work.
- Assist with fence construction, including layout, post installation, framing, gates, and fence board installation.
- Dig and prepare post holes, set and level fence posts, and assist with concrete placement and alignment.
- Perform physically demanding general construction duties, including demolition, material handling, site preparation, cleanup, and moving tools and materials.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively
- Contribute to restoration projects by preparing surfaces, applying caulking, and performing general carpentry duties
- Support heavy lifting activities and material handling to maintain project timelines and safety standards
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience or hands-on handyman experience required
- Experience with woodworking, deck and fence construction, cabinetry, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, and roofing,
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; experience with CNC machinery is a plus
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward learning new skills in construction trades
