Evropa Construction Ltd. is seeking a reliable and motivated Water Restoration Technician to join our Property Damage and Restoration team. The successful candidate will respond to residential and commercial water-loss emergencies and assist with water extraction, drying, demolition, cleaning, site protection, and restoration activities.
This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to emergency calls outside of regular business hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency water-damage and property-loss calls.
- Perform water extraction using pumps, wet vacuums, and other restoration equipment.
- Set up, monitor, and remove air movers, dehumidifiers, and other drying equipment.
- Take and document moisture readings throughout the drying process.
- Remove damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, baseboards, cabinetry, and other affected materials as required.
- Assist with demolition, debris removal, cleaning, disinfecting, and site preparation.
- Install temporary protection, containment, and safety barriers.
- Photograph and document site conditions, damaged areas, equipment placement, and work completed.
- Maintain accurate job-site documentation and daily progress updates.
- Clean, maintain, and organize restoration equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, adjusters, consultants, and project managers.
- Follow company health and safety policies and all applicable Ontario regulations.
- Wear and properly maintain required personal protective equipment.
- Assist other restoration and construction crews as required.
- Participate in an after-hours and weekend emergency response rotation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in water damage restoration, construction, demolition, or general labour is preferred.
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is considered a strong asset.
- Experience using moisture meters, dehumidifiers, air movers, extraction equipment, and related restoration equipment is an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record preferred.
- Ability to safely lift and carry approximately 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in residential, commercial, and occupied environments.
- Comfortable working around water-damaged and potentially contaminated materials while using appropriate PPE and procedures.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to emergency calls when scheduled.
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, and other construction-related certifications are considered assets.
Work Conditions
The position may involve:
- Evening, overnight, weekend, and emergency work.
- Working in wet, dusty, confined, or partially demolished environments.
- Standing, bending, lifting, carrying, and other physical activity for extended periods.
- Travel throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
- Use of respirators and other PPE where required.
