Primrose Livestock is a dynamic agricultural operation running grain and cattle feedlot operations across multiple Saskatchewan locations, with a focus on modern practices and long-term growth. We are looking for a highly skilled/experienced person who can operate big farm equipment, seedling and field work, combining training and management of 15,000 acres of farmland & 4 to 6 experienced workers in an 8,000-head feedlot that backgrounds seasonally.
Farm / Feedlot Manager
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and Maintain Communication with Agronomists, Suppliers, and Owners
- Oversee and Train Employees as needed
- Ensure the Feeding Program is followed and Monitor Feed Bunks
- Manage Vaccination and Medical Needs of the Cattle
- Manage Shipping and Receiving of Cattle
- Implement Pasture and Pen Breeding Programs
- Maintain and Report Accurate Cattle Records
- Performing General Farm, Feedlot, and Pasture Duties
Requirements:
- 5 years of Experience in a Similar Role
- Strong Knowledge of Modern Farm and Feedlot Equipment
- Exceptional Leadership, Organizational, and Problem-Solving Skills
- Able to Understand and follow Safety Procedures, and ensure other Employees Comply with them
- Able to Set, Delegate, and Execute Daily Tasks as Required
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Willing to work in a Multicultural Environment
- Able to use new Technologies, including GPS
- Intermediate Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and Feedlot Management Applications
- Able to Operate, Inspect, Maintain, and Repair large Farming and Feedlot Equipment
- Capable of Performing Physical Job Duties, which may include Bending, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Climbing, Crawling, and Twisting
- Valid Driver’s License, Class 1 License an asset
- Post-Secondary Education in Agriculture or a related field is an asset
