Position Overview
We’re seeking a reliable, part-time Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team! We need help with our primary company, Hybrid Elevator, plus some assistance with our much smaller related company, Voth Cabinetry. This role will be responsible for certain day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks for both companies. The position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
The ideal candidate brings a foundation of bookkeeping experience, good technical skills, experience with modern tools and accounting workflows, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You are analytical, dependable, and comfortable handling sensitive financial information with discretion.

With a strong reputation built on quality craftsmanship and personalized service, they create tailored solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces. Their team focuses on combining thoughtful design, premium materials, and attention to detail to deliver functional, long-lasting results that transform houses into homes.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for:
- Entering and processing of accounts payable, including payments.
- Invoicing customers and accounts receivable collections.
- Bank and credit card reconciliations;
- Remittances, including GST filings;
- Assisting with company purchases, including completing purchase orders and tracking goods to be received.
- Ensuring established finance workflows are being followed consistently;
- Office management / filing / data entry / organization type of tasks as required.
- Supporting other day-to-day and occasional accounting department requirements.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of recent related bookkeeping or accounting experience. Someone with more experience may be considered as well, but not less;
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, banking platforms, etc.
- Experience with cloud-based systems and willingness to consider how AI could improve and make processes more efficient. We use modern tools like Xero, Plooto, and Pipedrive in the accounting department.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Well organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking.
- Prior experience working with manufacturing companies would be an asset in this role;
This is a flexible, part-time, in-office opportunity in Kelowna, BC. We expect to require 16 to 20 hours per week. We are willing to work with your schedule, and hours could be 2 days per week or 3 to 4 hours per day, for example. To be clear, remote work is not possible.
