Position Summary:
In this role, you will support the financial accounting team in full-cycle accounting, preparing financial reports, assisting with month-end and year-end processes and assisting with tax and insurance functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on financial accounting experience within a dynamic and growing business environment. You will work closely with senior team members and be exposed to a variety of tasks across different entities and industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with full-cycle accounting, including month-end close activities, monthly account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, working papers and supporting schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and financial reports.
- Assist with tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions including tax return filing, supporting audits, and maintaining tax system data.
- Support the day-to-day administration of the company’s insurance programs including tracking policy information, organizing renewal documentation, assisting with certificates of insurance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- University degree or college diploma in accounting / business administration.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong business acumen and organizational skills.
- Energy industry experience, particularly midstream oil & gas, would be considered an asset.
