JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Accountant will be responsible to support divisional financial operations. The Corporate Controller is responsible for the analysis, budgeting, forecasting and preparation of financial reports. This position will be based out of our Head Office in Sherwood Park, AB.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and manage daily accounting functions for the Corporate Department’s overall accounting cycle including reconciliations, intercompany transactions, job costing, inventory, and revenue recognition
Completing budget to actual tracking and investigate variances to provide recommendations to Senior Management
Perform and review moderate to complex reconciliations
Prepare and review accounting records and related supporting working papers including corporate tax
Assist with the monthly financial close process and multi company/currency monthly consolidation
Assist with year-end audit by liaising with auditors and preparing required materials.
Assist with preparation of monthly forecasts and the consolidation of forecasts of the various regions
Prepare cash flow forecasts and make recommendations on cash requirements
Continual monitoring and evaluation of internal controls and financial reporting processes and procedures
Assist with preparation of monthly consolidated reporting package
REQUIREMENTS
University degree in Accounting/Finance.
Professional accounting designation (CPA – CA, CGA, or CMA) or pursing designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, possessing extensive knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline orientated team environment.
Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to details.
Financial analysis, budgeting and strategic planning experience.
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications.
Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis techniques.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
Strong computer skills including MS Office and Sage 300 or equivalent ERP system.
