Calligaris Toronto is a design-focused showroom in Toronto's Castlefield Design District, representing Calligaris — an Italian furniture brand with over 100 years of history in contemporary design. Our 9,000 sq. ft. space serves both residential clients and design professionals, and sits at the intersection of craft, commerce, and considered living.We are a small, specialized team. The Role
This is a senior, blended position combining in-showroom client experience with active business development across the GTA design community. You will be equally responsible for guiding clients through furniture projects from first conversation to final delivery, and for building and maintaining relationships with architecture and interior design firms.The right candidate has established connections in the GTA design community, a strong design sensibility, and the ability to manage client relationships and sales cycles independently.
A&D/Trade Outreach (60%)
- Develop and maintain relationships with architecture and interior design firms and specifiers across the GTA
- Create and deliver product presentations to trade audiences
- Organize and host trade engagements including Lunch and Learns and showroom presentations
- Execute social media campaigns to build brand awareness within the A&D community
- Curate and support showroom events and product launches
- Track trends, market activity, and key projects across the GTA
- Collaborate with the internal team to support sales efforts and refine outreach strategies
Retail Sales and Client Development (40%)
- Guide clients through full project development including product selection, material selection, layout, and order processing
- Prepare sales quotes, specifications, and proposals
- Provide in-showroom and in-home design consultations including furniture plans, material boards, and 3D models
- Manage the full sales cycle from specification through order tracking and delivery coordination
- Record leads, client activity, and sales cycles using CRM software
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly sales targets
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in A&D sales and luxury furniture
- Established relationships with architectural and design firms in the GTA
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Entrepreneurial and self-driven, with a demonstrated ability to grow market presence
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to translate a client's brief into furniture solutions
- Proficiency in SketchUp or similar modelling software
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Valid G driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the GTA
- Availability to work showroom hours, Monday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm, approximately 40 hours per week
Good to Have
Experience with Zoho Suite or QuickBooks. A bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture is considered an asset.
