Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients, ensuring safe and effective medication administration, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. This role is essential in delivering high-quality care within a hospital setting, particularly in pediatrics and acute care environments.
Duties
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapies as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management.
- Stay current with medical terminology and advancements in pharmacotherapy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental policies.
Experience
- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is highly preferred, especially in pediatrics or acute care.
- Strong understanding of medication administration practices and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
