About us
Squido Studio is a Montreal game studio whose titles have reached over 1M players worldwide. We're now quietly building something new: an entertainment app powered by generative AI, a new kind of interactive content that blends watching, playing, and creating. That's all we'll say publicly; you'll get the full picture on day one.
We're launching our first closed playtest (100+ testers), and we're hiring the person who'll build its community, and help us answer our biggest question.
The twist: we don't know who our audience is yet. Finding out is your job.
This product could land with very different crowds, teens who live in games and memes, Gen Z TikTok natives, interactive-fiction and romance readers, chatbot power users, streamers and their chats, casual players in their 30s and 40s. Different people may use it in completely different ways: some will binge-watch, some will play, some will create, some will chase comedy, others romance or drama.
Your mission is to recruit deliberately diverse waves of testers, watch what each group actually does, and help us discover who this product is really for and what they use it as. You're not just animating a community, you're running the field research that finds product-market fit.
What you'll do
- Build the home base: set up and run our Discord (structure, onboarding, roles, moderation)
- Recruit 100+ playtesters across distinct audience profiles, from the communities where each group already lives (Discord servers, Reddit, TikTok, book/fandom spaces, campuses), and keep the pipeline warm for future waves
- Observe and report like a researcher: who sticks? who churns? who watches vs. plays vs. creates? what tone do they gravitate to? Compile weekly insight summaries the team can act on, patterns, quotes, standout moments, segment-by-segment
- Keep it alive: contests, challenges, events, spotlights tuned to what each audience responds to
- Fuel creation: encourage testers to make and share their own content in the app
- Support players: answer questions, triage bugs, be the friendly first responder
You're probably a fit if you
- Live on Discord, you've built or actively run a server (gaming, fandom, creator, book/romance, or student communities)
- Are a social chameleon: as comfortable talking to a 16-year-old memelord as a 35-year-old romance reader, you can find, welcome, and read very different crowds
- Are excited by AI entertainment, you don't just use generative AI, you see it as the next medium and want to help shape it
- Are genuinely curious about why people like what they like, you notice patterns and love reporting them
- Write in a voice people want to read, warm, fun, zero cringe
- Can turn 300 chaotic Discord messages into a one-page summary a product team thanks you for
- Are self-directed, this is a startup-style gig; you'll own your lane
