Creative Director - Radio & Broadcast

Rogers Creative is seeking a Creative Director to lead Radio & Broadcast Print & Digital team. As a leader, you will serve as a key member of our team to drive and oversee multifaceted projects to build compelling campaigns and branding initiatives that bridge strategy and design.

We're looking for a crazy-talented individual who continuously inspires, directs and mentors their creative team and those around them. The right candidate must have an outstanding understanding of graphic design, branding and conceptual strategy. The role requires core strengths in the ability to multi-task, co-ordinate, public speak and present, as well as troubleshoot, problem solve and have exceptional people skills. You should be someone who thrives on challenges, setting and achieving goals, and has incorporated design into their lifestyle. You’re also a master in creating concept, branding and campaign decks and presenting it to all levels of clients.

We develop engaging, award winning work for a variety of clients with local and national reach. Our creative team carries the principles of a design studio but functions as an in-house design group. You understand empowerment and the positive culture it breeds. The role has a focus on off-air creative, with a strong understanding of all platforms, specifically in print, digital, social, and motion/video.

We're looking for someone who:
  • Is super creative, insightful, lives and breathes great design
  • Can direct the creative functionalities of concept development, collaborating with team members, creating work environment, meeting work expectations, and discussing team goals and achievements.
  • Leads in the conceptualization and creation of campaigns with the ability to lead across all platforms.
  • Ensures the work reflects the client's business and brand requirements.
  • Presents and explains concepts, answers questions and communicates changes to the team.
  • Mentors and inspires other team members.
  • Must have an almost instinctual grasp of what will work when branding a client or developing a marketing plan and understand what creative concept will play well in the market.
  • Has a strong ability to keep deadlines on track and creative teams organized.
  • Directs brand consistency through building of guidelines and consistency documents.
  • Directs activities for professional development of organizational team members, conducting creative workshops for staff members, implementing corrective strategies in promotional activities, and recommending promotion of the team members based on their productivity.
  • Manages external agents like photographers, printers, freelancers, web developers, etc., and coordinating them according to the work of art directors, copywriters, and other post production workers
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of professional experience with a background in graphic design or branding
  • Portfolio that shows strategic and conceptual campaign thinking and branding applied across a range of deliverables
  • Fluent in design, fashion, editorial, television, music and tech with a knowledge of classic references and visual history
  • Ability and extensive experience in managing and directing photo shoots
  • Ability to problem solve on an analytical level.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, professional.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Impeccable taste for great design, typography, colour and amazing attention to details
  • Support the other Creative Directors on creative input and design execution.
  • Clearly communicating the artistic vision to the team and client.
  • Work on multiple projects at one time, while managing your time efficiently.
  • You have an eye for aesthetic and the ability to solve for big design challenges while sweating the smallest details of line breaks and pixel perfect layouts to create powerful stories through the work.
  • Proficient in of all Adobe design software and ability to be “hands on” design when required
