Job: General Labourer
Location: Fort William Historic Park, Thunder Bay, ON
Pay: $18.00 per hour

MGR Workforce is currently hiring General Labourer to work as Event Workers for a major multi-day event at Fort William Historic Park in Thunder Bay, ON.
This is a great opportunity for dependable, energetic individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a team that helps deliver a successful large-scale event. Shift Schedule
Staff will work rotating AM and PM shifts. Shift lengths will vary between approximately 8 to 10 hours per day based on operational requirements.
Event Schedule:
- Wednesday, August 12: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Preparation Day)
- Thursday, August 13: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Friday, August 14: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Saturday, August 15: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Sunday, August 16: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Final schedules and shift assignments will be provided before the event.
As an Event worker, you will help keep the event running safely, efficiently, and professionally by assisting with a variety of operational duties, including:
- Assist with event setup and teardown
- Set up tables, chairs, barricades, signage, and waste stations
- Direct guests to appropriate parking areas and help maintain traffic flow
- Assist with accessible parking and provide general directions to guests
- Help keep walkways, fire routes, and emergency access points clear
- Monitor restricted access areas and report any concerns to supervisors
- Collect garbage and recycling throughout the event site
- Keep dining areas, seating areas, walkways, and public spaces clean
- Respond to spills and general site cleanup as needed
- Reset tables and seating areas between scheduled activities
- Move tables, chairs, equipment, and event supplies as required
- Support other event teams with operational tasks when needed
- Report maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues promptly
- Provide friendly and professional customer service while interacting with guests
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the full event schedule
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable performing physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to lift and move light to moderate equipment and supplies
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
- Safety-conscious with attention to detail
- Previous event, general labour, customer service, or grounds maintenance experience is considered an asset but is not required
- $18.00 per hour
