HeadHunting Inc. is currently building a reliable RN & RPN Float Team to support Long-Term Care and Retirement Homes throughout Perth, Arnprior, and surrounding areas.
This opportunity is ideal for nurses who already have a full-time or part-time position and are looking to earn additional income, or for those who simply prefer the flexibility of casual scheduling.
We have ongoing needs for day, evening, and night shifts, including last-minute coverage opportunities.
What the Opportunity Looks Like
- Casual and pick-up shifts – no fixed schedule
- Primarily 8-12 hour shifts
- Day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday opportunities
- Opportunities across Perth, Arnprior, & Surrounding Area
- Pick up shifts based on your availability
- Last-minute opportunities may be available with 2 hours to 1 day’s notice
- Opportunity to become part of our preferred RN/RPN Float Team for ongoing shifts
Key Responsibilities
As an RN/RPN, you may be responsible for:
- Providing safe, compassionate, resident-centred nursing care within LTC and Retirement Home environments.
- Completing nursing assessments and monitoring changes in residents’ health status.
- Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards.
- Providing wound care and other nursing interventions within your scope of practice.
- Responding appropriately to changes in resident condition and emergencies.
- Completing accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Communicating with physicians, families, pharmacies, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Supervising and providing direction to PSWs/HCAs as required.
- Supporting admissions, transfers, and changes to resident care plans.
- Following infection prevention and control, medication management, and resident safety protocols.
- Providing professional nursing leadership during assigned shifts.
What We’re Looking ForRegistered Nurse (RN)
- Active registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RN.
- Minimum 2 year of recent Canadian LTC or Retirement Home experience preferred.
- Strong medication administration, assessment, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Previous Charge Nurse experience is considered an asset.
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
- Active registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RPN.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Canadian LTC or Retirement Home experience preferred.
- Comfortable working independently and to full RPN scope of practice.
- Strong medication administration, resident assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
Additional Requirements
Candidates should have or be willing to provide:
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS)
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Current N95 Mask Fit Test
- Required immunization/TB documentation
- Professional references
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned facilities
- Ability to respond to occasional short-notice staffing needs
