Job Introduction
Co-Ex-Tec, a division of Magna Exteriors, is hiring a Health and Safety Manager for our Concord location. If you have a manufacturing background, (automotive preferred) with a minimum of 5 years’ Health & Safety experience in a large production facility, together with an innate ability to instill a sense of urgency, to drive problems towards resolution in all areas of Health & Safety, through strong processes and teamwork, we invite you to join our team.

Major Responsibilities
1. Foster, promote, reinforce and influence a safety culture in the organization. 2. Interpret and advise managers, supervisors and employees on policies and procedures relating to all areas of health, safety and ergonomics and ensure company & employees' needs are met. 3. Conduct and communicate risk assessment of current and new processes to ensure safe management of change. 4. Develop and help management to enforce Health and Safety policies, procedures and practices and audit said programs regularly with management (eg. WHMIS, Emergency Evacuation, Lock Out, etc.). 5. Manage all safety training, including WHMIS, for employees and management as needed, ensuring all legislated requirements are met. 6. Co-chair Joint Health and Safety meetings and provide direction for same including regular workplace inspections. 7. Designated company representative to all outside Health and Safety related companies, and legislative bodies (ie: Ministry of Labour). 8. Complete all APQP-related activities, Problem Resolution Process and all other Quality Management System requirements as needed. 9. Provide meaningful statistics to management in a timely fashion to assist in continued improvement of workplace health, safety and loss control.

Knowledge and Education
5 years’ experience, in a Health and Safety role, in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive 2 years' experience in a leadership role Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety Expert knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, codes, etc. Well-developed communication (both written and oral), organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities.

Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities. Excellent oral, written interpersonal and presentation skills Highly self-motivated and flexible Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and fully integrated systems Must be capable of working under pressure with short completion times on projects and of working flexible hours in order to meet both internal and external customer requirements In-depth knowledge of labour relations, health & safety and environmental legislation in Ontario
