Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders, to support various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe project completion. The Excavator Operator will play a vital role in earthmoving, site preparation, and other heavy-duty tasks essential to construction operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment with precision and safety.
- Perform site preparation activities including digging, trenching, grading, and material handling.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Assist with horizontal drilling and paving operations as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and equipment usage.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Perform minor mechanical troubleshooting or adjustments on equipment when necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators and heavy machinery in a construction environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Experience with horizontal drilling, paving, or other specialized construction techniques is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures related to heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials when required.
- Prior experience with construction projects involving heavy machinery operation is essential for success in this role.
Pay: $32.00-$45.00 per hour
