What you'll do
We are excited to share a new opportunity on the team!
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement and Sourcing Services, the Procurement Team Lead will be responsible for
assessing and identifying procurement needs and options, including strategizing to mitigate relevant risks and providing
expert guidance to project teams throughout the procurement process.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and Inspire: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Procurement Professionals, fostering a collaborative,
inclusive and high-performing environment.
- Enable Success: Ensure the team has the tools, resources and support needed to meet project deliverables efficiently and
on schedule.
- Develop Talent: Actively mentor team members to support their professional growth, skill development and career
progression.
- Strategic Execution: Lead cross-functional project teams in developing and executing supply chain strategies tailored to
specific project requirement.
- Collaborate and Influence: Work closely with internal stakeholders to secure approvals and implement procurement plans.
- Drive Value: Lead high-value complex procurements, supplier evaluations and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment
with organizational goals and maximizing value.
- Innovate and Improve: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within BC Hydro’s Supply Chain model,
supporting broader strategic objectives.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field. An MBA is considered an asset.
- A minimum of 12 years of procurement experience particularly involving large-scale contracts.
- Professional designations, such as SCMP, APICS, PMP, P.Eng are considered strong assets.
- A combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered.
- Proven experience working in relevant industry, complex, multiple stakeholder environments with strategic procurement
considerations.
