Name and description of the hiring department:
Our Network team plans, designs, builds and operates Bell’s multi-billion dollar networks, including the continued expansion of our fibre optic network, HSPA+ and LTE — Canada’s largest and fastest wireless network.
The service we provide is the foundation of Bell’s competitive advantage and a critical step towards achieving Bell’s goal to be recognized by customers as Canada’s leading communications company.
Under the responsibility of Manager, Wireless Access Network operation center, the chosen candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing of the wireless access network including; HSPA/LTE/CDMA/Radio/Core, transport equipment and other related services. Also be in charge of the coordination of escalating incidents and documenting outages, and will act as prime support for our internal technicians, engineers, Bell Mobility Radio and paging teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Use the network management tools, to ensure network availability is maximized
Act as interface to Network Operations Groups, Engineering, Implementation, Third Party Carriers and Customer Facing Groups
Monitor and analyze alarm status of all network elements nationally using the provided network management tools, e.g. Remedy and Netrac
Troubleshoot verified alarms and record steps taken to resolve the network issue
Dispatch unresolved network alarms/issues in a timely manner to the appropriate group as required
Assist in the implementation and testing of new services and platforms and assist during routine tests and troubleshooting activities
To ensure the network is providing best customer experience 24X7, 365 days, the position demands a variable work schedule: day/night/evening/weekends/holidays
College / University Diploma in: IT-Telecommunication, computer science or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field
2 years related experience in the industry
Comprehensive knowledge of networking protocols and HSPA/LTE
Strong interpersonal, leadership, troubleshooting, multi-tasking skills
Ability to prioritize work quickly and effectively and use proper judgment
Able to handle stressful situations, make extensive use of available resources and work effectively with other internal support groups
Working experience in control centre environment is a strong asset
Need to be available to work 24/7
Work schedule might be changing depending in rotation
