Proximy is a marketplace that connects event producers with underutilized small business spaces to create intimate, ticketed in-person experiences that bring people together. We give producers the tech, tools, and infrastructure to plan, execute, and profit from events like a pro – from AI-powered event planning tools to seamless ticketing and payment processing. We handle the platform. You own the experience.
The Role:
Proximy is actively seeking Community Event Producers in Vancouver, BC– entrepreneurial self-starters who want to build something meaningful on their own terms. This role puts you in the driver’s seat of your own market, giving you the autonomy to build and scale events from the ground up. You will operate as an independent leader within our network, collaborating with peers to innovate how we connect people and spaces.
What Community Event Producers Do:
- Scout & Unlock Venues: Identify local businesses with underutilized space and register them onto the Proximy platform.
- Curate Experiences: Collaborate with venues to design compelling event concepts using Proximy’s AI tools or your own creativity. Think evening mixers, sushi making workshops, live music pop-ups, or underground comedy nights.
- Run your events: List, promote, and execute ticketed events.
- Community Growth: Network with local creatives, influencers, and organizations to co-promote shows, fill seats, and build a loyal following.
Who You Are:
- A local connector: You know the owners of the best coffee shops, the managers of the cool boutiques, and the instructors at the local studios.
- A Natural Pitcher: You understand the struggles of small businesses (rent, foot traffic, seasonality) and know how to present a solution.
- Event Savvy: You have a background in event coordination, hospitality, or promotions. You know what makes an in-person experience feel "magical" rather than forced.
- Entrepreneurial: You can work autonomously. You don’t need a boss telling you to go out and meet people; you thrive on the hustle of building something from the ground up.
- Tech-Comfortable: You can easily navigate and demonstrate software platforms to potential clients.
The Perks of Partnership (Compensation & Freedom):
- Uncapped Revenue Share: You earn a commission based on the ticket sales and success of the events you facilitate per month. Estimated earnings range from $200 to $2,500+ per month, but there is no cap on the number of events you can host, and we help you build profitable events. (Note: As an independent contractor role, there is no base salary or guaranteed minimum).
- Total Autonomy: No required hours. No quotas. You decide how, when, and where you work.
- Team Support: You lead locally, but you have a team behind you that will support with data, case studies, technology, and guidance to help you close deals and scale your earnings.
