Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Welder/Labourer to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing various welding and fabrication tasks, supporting assembly and construction projects, and assisting with general labor duties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with welding techniques, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, precision, and teamwork are paramount.
Core Responsibilities
- Read and understand job specifications and build as laid out in them.
- Read construction drawings and measure and fit products according to their requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality across the organization.
- Ability to properly use required hand tools, power tools, hoists cranes, measuring devices and testing equipment.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
- Inspect and maintain the work area and tools machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding, brazing and soldering equipment.
- May adjust welding heads and tooling according to work specifications.
- Attend and actively participate in training classes and safety sessions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to support various labor-intensive duties efficiently
- Responsible for ensuring housekeeping is done throughout the task you are performing.
- Complete any other task assigned by your supervisor.
- Ensure that daily Welding and Fitting tasks are done in accordance with the INTE’s and CWB’s SOP’s.
Other Responsibilities
- Support quality team with testing and code requirements
- Help design and estimating.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Flux Core/ Metal Core and Hardwire welding.
- Experience with power tools.
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
- Ability to lift up to 25Kg
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, and welding details.
- Ability to read and interpret Drawings, and details from shop drawings.
- Ability to drive change and initiate system improvements.
- An effective team player with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work at heights, using step ladder, scissor lift, telescopic boom, etc
Education:
MCAW flat is required, any other qualification above this is an asset.
Compensation
- Wage range: $20- $28 per hour
- Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision package, paid holidays, and vacation pay.
- Vacation: 2 weeks. vacation pay gets processed with hourly payroll.
