We have an exciting opportunity for an educator experienced in teaching Senior Math and Science (Pre-Calculus 11, 12, Physics 11, 12, Chemistry 11, 12, Science 10, Math 10)
You will be part of a supportive team that greatly cares about creating an engaging and supportive school environment that actively seeks to develop our students’ learning and growth by integrating Christian perspectives into all aspects of teaching the BC curriculum.
As a teacher in our high school division, your key responsibilities include:
Creating an engaging and dynamic environment that supports student learning
Contributing to the fantastic culture and community of VCS by working cooperatively with colleagues and participating in staff engagement and worship activities
Participating fully in student-learning and extra-curricular activities outside of the school day
Being flexible and open to teaching additional courses
Participating in professional development that supports the ongoing pursuit of excellence in educational pedagogy and teaching through the lens of a Christian worldview
Specific duties: work cooperatively with colleagues within his/her department and across the school; participate fully in student-learning and extra-curricular activities outside of the school day; may also be called on to teach additional courses
Qualifications
Completion of a Bachelor of Education
Experience teaching senior-level science courses (such as Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics) and math courses is an asset
Strong working understanding of differentiated instruction as it applies to teaching
Strong working knowledge of current pedagogy, sound assessment practices and learning empowered by technology
Must have a certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch of the BC Ministry of Education
Is familiar with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum
Annual salary range
$56,016 to $100,902 per school year (dependent on education, qualifications and experience; pro-rated for part-time teachers)
