- Responsible for all on-site construction activities on a daily basis.
- Manage multiple projects throughout the construction phase.
- Work closely with the project manager from beginning to end of the project to maintain productivity and quality
- Review, understand and apply project drawings and specifications to ensure projects are constructed and designed.
- Effectively forecast project labour requirements.
- Able to problem solve in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist on keeping the project on schedule and budget.
- Coordination, scheduling, and monitor work performance of sub contractors.
- Commitment to continual learning, teamwork and providing excellent customer service.
- Conduct on site meetings with trades and project manager to ensure project plans & schedule are followed.
- Conduct safety meetings on site, enforce safety policies, and all ministry guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all workers on your job site.
- Committed to putting safety first.
- Assists periodically on other projects as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5-year minimum experience as a Site Superintendent on industrial, commercial and residential projects worth $1 to 20 million.
- Strong leadership/managerial qualities required.
- Experience in pre-engineered steel building construction, conventional steel construction, wood framed construction.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, permitting process, building bylaws, specifications etc.
- Exemplary analytic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proven leadership skills with a large and diverse workforce
- Ability to nurture effective professional relationships with staff, clients, and sub trades
- Confidence to thrive under pressure
- Professional demeanor and attitude
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a valid G driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
- Current First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, Propane for Construction, Basics of Supervision
- Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma
