Job description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, installing, bracing, and stripping concrete formwork systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects. This position requires strong knowledge of concrete forming methods, construction safety practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout specifications
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood or engineered formwork systems
- Build and install walls, columns, slabs, suspended decks, stairs, cores, and other concrete forming systems
- Install embeds, anchor bolts, sleeves, and blockouts according to drawings
- Set elevations and ensure forms are level, square, and properly aligned
- Brace and secure formwork to withstand concrete placement pressures
- Strip and dismantle forms after concrete curing
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assist with concrete pours and finishing preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, labourers, crane operators, and other trades
Qualifications
- Previous experience in concrete formwork construction preferred
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and layouts
- Knowledge of conventional and/or engineered forming systems
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Valid safety certifications considered an asset:
- CSTS
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection
- Elevated Work Platform
- First Aid

Working Conditions
- Outdoor construction environment
- Physically demanding work including lifting, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights
- Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on project schedules
