Hi there! We’re Aykah Furniture (www.aykah.ca) and we’re looking for a reliable full-time Delivery & Warehouse Associate to join our growing team. This full-time role is based out of our Burnaby and Port Coquitlam locations and involves both warehouse support and customer deliveries.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable with physical work, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
What your day-to-day responsibilities look like:
Delivery Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver furniture and customer orders to various locations
- Load and unload products from delivery vehicles
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries
- Maintain delivery records and obtain required signatures or proof of delivery
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery updates, concerns, or issues
- Ensure accurate and prompt deliveries to customers
- Remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced, multi-tasking delivery environment
- Follow all company delivery procedures, policies, and safety standards
Warehouse Responsibilities
- Load, unload, move, sort, stack, pack, and unpack products and materials
- Pick orders, stock items, and organize warehouse inventory
- Store materials and maintain an organized warehouse environment
- Make and attach labels to goods as needed
- Operate basic material-handling equipment to load, unload, and store goods
- Unload containers and move products safely by hand or with equipment
- Count, weigh, sort, pack, and unpack materials and products
- Maintain and clean warehouse premises and equipment
- Inspect material-handling equipment before and after use
- Document shipments by recording units shipped
- Follow all company safety procedures, policies, attendance requirements, and workplace standards
- Perform other warehouse and material-handling duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, delivery, logistics, or a similar role is preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to speak and read English
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Forklift experience or certification is considered an asset
