Job Description:
We are seeking an Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assemble our core products and contribute to the development of innovative technologies, ensuring high quality and efficiency in all tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, test, and inspect production and R&D mechatronic components and systems. Tools are tested under high pressure water and in some instances, high presure gas.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive mechanical assembly and testing tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Assist with QA/QC procedures to ensure components are correct prior to assembly.
- Ability to jump between tasks when necessary while still maintaining an organized process.
- Identify, resolve, and report assembly-related issues promptly.
- Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
- Some interpretation of schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Help to develop and implement manufacturing, operational, maintenance, and safety procedures in coordination with engineers and specialists.
- Document all service-related activities as required by management.
- Analyze non-conformance and failures and discuss findings with management.
- Train the operations team on the usage and troubleshooting of new products.
- Support operation team in analyzing and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to quality, health, safety, and environment guidelines set forth by management and participate in the monthly safety meetings.
- Available for on-call duties as required.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to meet business objectives.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant experience; or,
- Associate degree in mechatronics or related field with 2+ years of experience; or,
- Technical certification in instrumentation/control or related field with 2+ years of experience*.
Experience*:
- Full-time technician role in a manufacturing, laboratory, field, or military environment, preferably involving electrical, electronic, or mechatronics systems.
- Proven application of mechanical (e.g., hand tools), electrical (e.g., soldering), and/or computer skills.
- Previous experience in electronics assembly or oil related fields is preferred.
Skills
- Willing to learn from the supervisor or document and take notes as needed to understand the required tasks.
- Ability to work on assigned tasks or be a self starter as required.
- Adeptness at using hand and power tools for assembly.
- Organized to handle the paperwork required for record keeping and to enter the data into our online system.
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Detail oriented with precision work skills, such as stripping wires and soldering
- Some interpreting of electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Good communication skills for effective interactions within a multidisciplinary, multicultural team, and with clients.
- Understanding of safety and quality protocols in an electronics assembly environment.
- Logical and organized, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift 25lbs and larger weights with assistance from team members.
License:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (our location is in Nisku, and not serviced by standard ETS bus system).
