Richelieu Hardware is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader as Health & Safety and Fleet Coordinator, for the Richelieu Hardware Canada Limited at the Onward, Kitchener, Ontario Location.
Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will be responsible for proactive management of the warehouse equipment fleet. This role also has the responsibility to assist in managing the Health & Safety program at Onward
More specifically, the main responsibilities of the position are to:
Fleet management

Daily watering of equipment batteries
-
Proactive management of maintenance and annual equipment certifications.

Central point of contact for all machine issues, preparation of repair budgets and coordination with the onsite Technician to execute repairs.

This is a new role, and additional relevant tasks will be added as we gain a better understanding of what is needed.
Health & Safety

Manages all routine checks and inspections of racking and equipment
-
Ensures all administrative tasks related to the health and safety program are completed accurately and on time

Works under the direction of the OPS manager managing communication and monitoring of health and safety programs and monitoring compliance
-
Additional tasks relevant to this role will be added as needed by the Operations Manager

Conduct routine warehouse safety inspections and identify potential hazards

Asist in near miss investigation and documentation
-
Investigation and track root cause of injuries. Ensures to maintain all records and files. Implement corrective actions to prevent future injuries with support of warehouse manager.

Maintain employee safety training and certification records

Support JHSC inspections, meetings and follow up actions

Coordinate ongoing safety communication with warehouse management.
Requirements

Knowledge of or experience with warehouse machinery including watering of batteries and inspections

Strong communication and organization skills

Experience working in a warehouse environment

Willing to be trained in Health and Safety procedures and become First Aid certified

Able to work on the Day Shift
