Important Information
- This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
- This role follows a hybrid work model including home care and virtual consultations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle are required
Your role is important :
- The respiratory therapist is responsible for the clinical pathway of sleep care patients. These activitiesare carried out digitally, via chat and teleconsultations, as well as face-to-face.
- He supports patients and referring professionals in the screening of sleep disorders and positions diagnostic or therapeutic services to respond appropriately to the patient's needs.
- He guides patients in the appropriation of their health conditions following a diagnostic test.
- He relates the patient's signs, symptoms and pathophysiology to a potential sleep disorder.
- He accompanies patients through their treatment pathway (CPAP or other treatments) and helps to mobilize them in their care pathway.
- He is responsible for validating the concordance between the medical prescription and the equipment programming, and for ensuring patient adherence to therapy.
- He applies the therapeutic adherence protocol, ensuring periodic and adhoc follow-ups according to the different patient profiles.
- He helps patients develop healthy lifestyle habits that contribute to good sleep, through sleep hygiene consultations.
- As part of his activities, he prioritizes urgent cases that do not respond to the therapeutic adherence, protocol and/or the sleep hygiene consultation for medical follow-up.
- He applies the protocols of the various consultations (screening, post-diagnosis, therapeutic adherenceand sleep hygiene) and records all the information prescribed.
General duties and responsibilities :
- Carrying out consultations with patients: screening, post-diagnosis, getting to know their sleep better and sleep hygiene;
- Perform all activities digitally (teleconsultation, chat, web platforms, etc.)
- Contribute to face-to-face activities, according to operational needs;
- Ensure the development of our online services approach in conjunction with operations colleagues;
- Contribute to the drafting of procedures and work instructions for online tools and services (chat, teleconsultation, boutique, patient platform, etc.).
- Obtain the necessary consents to share health data with another healthcare professional and/or to sales policies;
- Apply protocols associated with consultations;
- Present treatment options to patients based on their condition and preferences;
- Collaborate on device selection based on prescription and customer needs;
- Collaborate on mask selection to find the optimum interface;
- Teach positive pressure therapy when required;
- Teach patients the pathophysiology of sleep apnea;
- Document in the patient's file the optimal choice of mask and PCC device according to the patient's morphology and clinical condition during the post-diagnostic consultation;
- Ensure therapeutic follow-up according to the therapeutic adherence protocol;
- Collaborate in teaching the installation of equipment for ambulatory diagnostic studies, when required; Complete administrative documentation, verify contact information, process payment for services, when required;
- Contribute to the training of respiratory therapist colleagues;
- Contribute to the smooth running of the company;
Skills profile :
- Diploma of Collegial Studies in Respiratory Therapy and Anesthesia or in Respiratory Therapies;
- Member of the Nova Scotia regulator of Respisatory Therapy (NSRRT);
- Natural aptitude for teaching and communication;
- Have a natural curiosity for computers and technology;
- Be customer service oriented;
- Ability to listen and work as part of a team;
- Self-control and autonomy;
- Master problem-solving and make the right decisions;
- Be an agent of change and have the ability to adapt.

Pay: $29.09-$45.15 per hour
