Job Summary
We are seeking a Temporary Workplace signer to join our team.*The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites and roadwork areas. This position requires strong communication skills and site management ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus. TCP Certification and TWS Certification will be required. As a TWS you will be responsible for the Traffic Control Vehicle onsite as well as managing 3 TCP's. Drivers license will be required with considerable time having had said license. Temporary Workplace Signers must have a valid class 5 driving license, they also require a TWS Certification and a TCP Certification by a Nova Scotia accredited institution*. Hard working and leadership oriented you would be a responsible foreman looking over the safety of all those on site while managing the Traffic Control People, Driven and reliable as reliability is one of our main goals.
Responsibilities:
- Make plans for directing traffic flow at construction sites, ensuring the safety of workers and the public.
- Punctuality /on time.
- Safety Focused and vocal about safety violations in a polite manner to TCPS and contractors
- Manage TCP’s
- Tell TCP’s if they exhibit unsafe behavior
- Conduct toolbox talks
- Review site to avoid fines and fix any issues that arise With setups.
- Plan sites in a manner that is safe for all TCPS, contractors and public.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians to provide clear instructions.
- Monitor site conditions and report any hazards or issues to supervisors.
- Assist in paving and building operations as needed, utilizing heavy equipment when qualified.
- Collaborate and manage with other team members to ensure smooth operations during roadwork activities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while managing challenging situations on-site.

Requirements:
- Reliable and punctual.

- Must be able to interpret both written and verbal instructions.
- Great communication skills and willing to work in a diverse team environment.
- Must be able to show leadership and good decision-making abilities.
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions, often working long days.
- Comfortable working near vehicle traffic and heavy equipment.
- Required ability to lift up to 30 lbs and standing for long periods of time.
- Valid TCP Certification.

- Valid Class 5 License
- Clean Criminal Record Check
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- On call
