Harbourside Geotechnical Consultants (HGC), a consulting engineering firm based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is looking for an Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As part of the Harbourside Group of Companies, HGC specializes in geotechnical engineering in support of construction, transportation, and heavy civil infrastructure projects with an emphasis on bridges, marine structures, and construction engineering. The successful candidate would provide technical and managerial leadership on heavy civil infrastructure projects and collaborate within our group of companies and with our valued project partners. Responsibility
The work would consist of a variety of laboratory, field, and office work which may include:
· Provide technical leadership and advisory services for design, analysis, and construction of our projects across Eastern Canada.
· Lead or participate in site characterization, development of engineering geological models, geotechnical investigations, and geohazard assessments.
· Lead or participate in engineering analyses and computer modelling.
· Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multi-disciplinary projects.
· Collaborate and actively participate in account management, client relationships, business development, and the development of proposals.
· Build collaborative, respectful, and effective relationships within Harbourside’s other business lines, technical delivery groups, and key individuals.
· Provide quality and independent reviews of project deliverables.
· Mentor and coach junior staff members.
· Help develop operating, safety, and laboratory procedures.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience.
- Professional Engineer in good standing.
