We’re hiring an Apprentice Carpenter 4-10 hr Mon-Thrus
We are looking for an aspiring apprentice carpenter to join our growing team! You will work under the supervision of a journeyman carpenter, learning and assisting to gain a relevant understanding of the trade. While we don’t require you to have solid experience in carpentry, apprentices should have some background knowledge in rough carpentry, forming and framing as well as some training with power and hand tools (and enthusiasm to learn more!). Additional experience in residential construction is beneficial, especially in areas of demolition, measuring, cutting and assembling lumber.
In exchange for your time and labour, we offer competitive compensation, a positive team environment, learning and development opportunities and a strong work-life balance (for example, the team works longer shifts Mon-Thurs so they can spend more time with friends and family Fri-Sun).
About you
Eager to learn the craft, you bring a good attitude and a dedication to gaining the skills and knowledge you need from your team. In addition to having manual dexterity, attention to detail and simple math skills in your toolkit, you’re hard-working, organized and easily adaptable to diverse work environments. Communication is vital for success at Straightline Carpentry, and so you are comfortable openly sharing ideas, asking questions and taking constructive criticism.
As an apprentice, you will be continuously learning (which you love). That includes years of on-the-job training and attending online and in-person courses. Learning on the job will include theory and practice, as well as watching and shadowing your more experienced teammates.
Your Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist a journeyman carpenter with construction and remodelling projects
- Help build wooden structures
- Attending courses on carpentry
- Learn and practice essential carpentry skills on the job
- Set up and maintain tools for your supervising carpenter

Your Requirements and Qualifications:

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Physically fit; can lift and carry heavy tools and equipment
- Strong communication skills

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Basic background or understanding of carpentry
If this sounds like you, apply today! We apologize in advance, but only qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews.
