Responsibilities:
- Processing release of shipments for highway, rail, and ocean shipment electronically.
- Process , assemble and present paper release packages to Canada Border Services Agency.
- Engage customers and carriers by phone.
- Understand and work with the Document Management System
- Managing the teams Outlook email.
- Processing shipment information from Outlook to the GHY operating system.
- Draft and send emails to client and carriers for missing information and instructions.
- Arrange delivery of goods with freight forwarders and carriers.
- Arrange payment of charges pertaining to shipments.
- Present corrections to Canada Border Service Agency (RMD Corrections)
Your Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand Customs documents
- Knowledge of rating goods would be considered an asset
- Strong organization skills, able to prioritize work while keeping strict deadlines;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel;
- Attention to detail, able to handle large volumes of work accurately;
- Strong problem-solving ability, comfortable to work independently;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Effective communication skills; and
- Ability to perform daily job functions in mature and professional manner;
- Experience with ITMR4 would be an asset
Your Education & Experience:
- Completion of Grade 12 Education
- Working towards completion of the Intro to Customs Course
- Working towards CCS completion
- Previous experience in a Customs Brokerage or as part of a Logistics team.
