Temporary Logistics Coordinator
HB Connections is seeking a Temporary Logistics Coordinator to support our Logistics team during a temporary leave of absence. This position will be responsible for coordinating international and domestic shipments, monitoring purchase order deliveries, managing freight bookings, tracking inventory movements, and ensuring timely communication between freight forwarders, warehouses, customers, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Contract Length: Approximately 2–3 months (with potential extension)
Key Responsibilities Shipment & Freight Coordination
- Coordinate outbound shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouses.
- Review and track, routing, and carrier information.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively identify potential delays.
- Follow up on missing shipment information and documentation.
Purchase Order & Delivery Follow-Up
- Monitor open purchase orders and shipment schedules.
- Ensure customer delivery requirements and shipping windows are met.
- Communicate potential risks and delays to internal teams.
- Maintain shipment tracking reports and delivery visibility.
Documentation & Support
- Coordinate shipping documentation, including:
- Commercial Invoices
- Packing Lists
- Bills of Lading
Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate Otbound shipments with 3PL warehouses.
- Monitor Shipments and inventory transfers.
- Investigate shipment discrepancies, shortages, and damages.
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and maintain weekly logistics reports.
- Provide updates on:
- Open shipments
- Freight Routings
- Delivery risks
- Participate in weekly logistics and operations meetings.
QualificationsRequired
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or order management.
- Experience coordinating shipments and working with freight forwarders.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred
- Experience with international freight and customs processes.
- Experience with ERP systems (Business Central, SAP, NetSuite, etc.).
- Experience working with retailers such as Walmart, Costco, Macy's, TJX, Nordstrom, or similar.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and freight terminology.
