Canada After School Group is a fast-growing year-round learning centre for kids in JK through to Grade 12. It offers a variety of subjects including English, Math, French, Art, etc.
Note: This is an onsite position and all teachers are required to teach in-person class on our campus. Teachers are welcome to teach on both of our campuses - North York campus and Markham campus.
The Role:
Preference will be given to instructors who can work a minimum of 3 to 5 days per week during our after-school (Monday to Friday 4pm - 8pm) and weekend centre hours(Saturdays and Sundays 9am-6pm). Instructors must be available to teach in-person from our centre location.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-structured and engaging lessons with a clear focus on student growth and understanding in one or more of the following subjects: English, French, and Mathematics.
- Employ strong classroom management and subject-specific teaching strategies tailored to Grades 1–8 and High School learners.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of the education landscape with an enthusiasm for innovative and creative instructional approaches.
- Maintain a student-centered, growth-oriented mindset in daily teaching practices.
- Collaborate professionally and constructively within a team environment.
- Differentiate instruction and assessments to address the unique needs of each learner.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Able to teach one or more of the following subjects from Grades 1 to 12: English, French, and Mathematics.
- Capable of teaching Core and Immersion French (if applicable to the subject combination).
- OCT certification preferred (or in progress).
- A minimum of 2 years of local teaching experience in Canada is required.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience (2+ years).
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering student growth, development, and learning.
Note: While the ability to teach all three subjects (ELA, French, and Mathematics) is preferred, candidates specializing in one subject are also encouraged to apply.
