As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join our growing concrete forming company. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and day-to-day accounting functions while supporting multiple active construction projects. The ideal candidate has previous experience in the construction industry, understands job costing and subcontractor payments, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable, including supplier invoices, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and payment runs.
- Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations.
- Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll legislation.
- Maintain employee records, payroll remittances, ROEs, and year-end payroll reporting.
- Assist with job costing, project tracking, and cost reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate project billing and cost allocation.
- Maintain organized financial records and support external accountants as required.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction or concrete forming industry.
- Experience processing payroll for union and/or non-union employees is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and construction accounting.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams.
