Epiroc FVT are on the hunt for a multi-disciplined manager to oversee operations and support our amazing team. This position focuses on our people, culture, and business processes- in that order.
“Culture eats strategy for breakfast”. We’re not just looking for an Operations Manager; we’re on the hunt for a People and Culture Maestro who can juggle spreadsheets, daily operations, and high-fives with equal finesse. If you understand how to “serve and protect” the talent in a company and can smoothly manage operations with a smile, this just might be the next place you hang your hat.
What You’ll Do:
- Champion Our Culture: Be the guardian of our existing company culture, ensuring that our workplace continues to be engaging, challenging, rewarding, disciplined, professional, and welcoming. Heck, maybe you can make it even better.
- Being of service: You will be the Oracle for problem-solving and providing creative solutions for all matters. Your ability to listen will be fundamental.
- Risk identification: Recognize risks on any and every level (safety, people, financial, operational, rodent, etc) and mitigate through good planning and action.
- Performance Management: Provide honest, constructive feedback that inspires and speaks the truth- even if it hurts.
- Onboarding: Make new hires feel like they’ve joined something very special- because they have.
- Nuts and bolts: Keep the gears of the operation running smoothly, from process improvements to resource management. Oversee every aspect of daily operations from the mundane to the game-changers. Report to and support the Engineering Manager and R&D Manager.
Essential Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in operations management in a company with >$3M in revenues
- Education: A degree in Business Administration or a related field. Life experience, pragmatism, problem-solving, and a sense of humour are equally valued.
- Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Bonus points if you can BBQ burgers for 35 people.
- Personality: Positive, approachable, professional, and lighthearted. You have a stern side when systems are not followed, safety has been neglected, or people have been treated unjustly.
- Gamer: You enjoy the daily game of constant improvement and systems development.
- People: You can identify talent, nurture talent, and retain talent. You understand “rockstar” status.
- Computers: Solid working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Financial: Ability to dissect financials and keep your finger on the pulse of budgets, spending, and waste.
Some of these skills would also be nice:
- Startup experience
- Tech background / experience
- Ability to build project expense reports and graphically display info to team leads
- “Wizard level” with the full Office 365 suite
- ERP or MRP hands-on experience
- Logistics experience
Why You’ll Love It Here:

- Growth Opportunities: We’re growing fast, and we want you to grow with us.
- Perks: Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and fresh-ground coffee.
