About Daan Go Cake Lab
Daan Go Cake Lab is a celebrated pastry destination known for its artful, boundary-pushing desserts. As we grow our coffee program to match the quality of everything else we do, we're looking for a Senior Barista who can lead that vision with the same care and creativity our guests expect.
The Role
This is a leadership position for someone who thinks seriously about coffee. You'll build and own the coffee program at our Richmond location from the ground up, then extend that program to our Downtown Vancouver café as well. You'll work closely with our selected roaster, develop a thoughtful menu, and bring your team along with you.
What You'll Do
- Curate the coffee menu with our roaster, ensuring it reflects the quality and intention of the Daan Go brand
- Serve as the primary point of contact with our roaster, staying current on seasonal offerings, sourcing, and best practices
- Train and mentor a team of baristas across multiple locations, building a consistent and elevated guest experience
- Lead the coffee program expansion to our Downtown Vancouver location once the Richmond program is established
- Uphold and contribute to service and quality standards across both locations
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in a senior barista or coffee lead role
- Strong knowledge of espresso technique, milk work, and manual brew methods
- Experience or genuine interest in menu development and coffee program building
- A calm, confident training style - you enjoy bringing others up with you
- Passion for craft and hospitality in equal measure
- Ability to work full-time, in-person across both Richmond and Vancouver locations as needed
Nice to Have
- Experience working directly with roasters or sourcing partners
- SCA certifications or equivalent training
- Background in specialty café environments
