The Sustainability Program Lead for Microsoft Canada is responsible for all aspects of the Microsoft Canada Sustainability plan that spans across customers, partners, and employees. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that Microsoft continues to enhance its leadership position in this space and is making a positive impact in our communities.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
Own the development, execution and reporting of progress made against the annual Sustainability plan for Microsoft Canada
Setting the strategic direction by understanding the changing business context for sustainability, integrating those insights into the annual Sustainability plan and engaging the Microsoft Canada leadership team to secure executive buy in for the plan
Interacting with customers and partners to evangelize the Microsoft Sustainability story to inspire those organizations to reduce their carbon footprint
Liaise with the sales, marketing and support teams to help customers leverage Sustainability solutions built on the Microsoft platform
Drive sales enablement to ensure that every seller can land the Sustainability story and support customers in deploying solutions to meet their Sustainability business objectives.
Collaborate with Corporate and Legal Affairs to develop Microsoft’s position on various policies developed by the Canadian government
Partner with marketing to co-develop and execute engaging campaigns to raise awareness of Microsoft’s commitment to Sustainability
Work with the partner ecosystems to build Sustainability solutions on the Microsoft platform
Lead a cross functional virtual team of volunteer employees from across Microsoft Canada to deliver on the Sustainability plan and exceed quarterly objectives
Leading the Microsoft Canada Sustainability employee community and ensuring it continues to grow and be an engaging place for employees to apply their passion and ideas in regards to Sustainability
Manage the annual budgetary spend in a compliant and responsible manner to drive the highest possible ROI
Qualifications
Qualifications:
5 – 7 years of program management experience, or combination and relevant experience Interest in and academic background in the sustainability field
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, or sustainability
Project management training would be an a asset
Strong analytical skills & ability to derive insights from data and convey them in a compelling manner
Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express related concepts in verbal and written forms
A high level of enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and effectiveness as a team player with experience of leading and influencing internal and external resources to ensure successful outcomes
Possess an entrepreneurial, self-directed spirit and proven track record of project execution
Proven track record of thriving in ambiguous environments and being able to drive clarity for oneself and the team
