Job Overview
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate piano player and choir director to lead music worship for Sunday morning services. Someone who has strong piano proficiency, experience leading and rehearsing vocal ensembles, and the ability to select and prepare music that inspires and engages singers of varying levels. Primary duties include accompanying the congregation during service, assisting with selection of anthems and direction of the choir in practice and performance. Duties
- Piano accompaniment and choir direction for Sunday morning services
- Assist the Music Director in planning and executing rehearsals, ensuring smooth and productive sessions
- Assist with selection of hymns and anthems
- Regular communication with minister and choir
Experience
- Proven experience in music accompaniment and / or directing choirs (2 yrs )
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey musical concepts
- Familiarity with hymns and sacred music a definite asset
The Assistant Music Director will share responsibilities with the Director to provide piano accompaniment and choir direction on Sundays and rehearsals Thursday evenings - typically 2 weeks per month and 2 full months during the winter. Most services in Canmore, occasionally in Banff
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
