Avionics Engineer | Blainville, QC | Permanent, on site
A Quebec avionics modification and retrofit house is looking for an avionics engineer to join a small, established engineering team. They have been at this since 1992: over 600 aircraft modified, more than 150 STCs granted, operators on their customer list all over the world. You would report straight to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering
What you would be doing
- Designing and modifying electrical and avionics systems alongside the engineering team
- Building engineering data packages: mechanical and electrical drawings, Engineering Orders, Weight and Balance revisions, ELAs, ICAs, AFMS and MEL work
- Taking packages through to STC issuance and dealing directly with the regulator
- Supporting installations and modifications, on site or remotely, when the team needs technical backup
- Sourcing and evaluating avionics equipment with vendors, and assessing subcontractor proposals
- Technical input on commercial proposals and answers to engineering requests from customers
- Mentoring and developing the engineering team
- Reviewing engineering documentation and improving how the work gets done
What you need
- Degree in avionics engineering
- Minimum 5 years in avionics engineering
- Solid knowledge of Canadian aviation regulation (CARs)
- Familiarity with RTCA DO, ARINC and TSO standards
- Fluent French and English, both are used daily here
- Strong MS Office and AutoCAD
