Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated professional with a background in education, mental health, or developmental support to provide individualized support for current and future clients. The ideal candidate is fun, creative, and compassionate, with experience in education, developmental services, and/or community-based programs. This role involves providing direct support to individuals with complex needs, focusing on skill development, communication, and community integration. Candidates should also be interested in a long-term role with opportunities for growth, including the potential for full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with individuals and families to support independence, community engagement, and social-emotional development.
- Implement individualized strategies to strengthen executive functioning, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills.
- Support the development of academic, daily living, and vocational skills to promote personal growth and success.
- Build trusting relationships through empathy, active listening, and a client-centered approach.
- Encourage participation in meaningful activities that reflect each person’s interests, goals, and strengths.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of supports, progress, and observations as required.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
- Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and respect in all client interactions.
- Travel within London and surrounding areas to provide in-person, community-based support.
- Follow organizational safety practices and procedures to ensure the well-being of clients and staff.
Qualifications
- Completed post-secondary education in Special Education, Developmental Support, Autism Studies, Mental Health, or a related field (required)
- Background in special education; OCT or teaching credentials are preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in educational, developmental, or mental health settings
- Experience supporting teens and/or adults with complex needs
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license

Work Conditions
- Client Needs: You will support individuals with complex needs, including those with ASD Level 3, and sometimes individuals who have very limited verbal communication. Experience in adapting strategies to meet different communication and support needs is important.
- Environment: Services are delivered in client homes, community settings, and occasionally online. You should feel comfortable adapting to different environments while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Travel: Regular travel within London, Ontario, and nearby areas is required to meet with clients and staff. Mileage may be reimbursed according to our policy.
- Physical Requirements: The role may involve standing, walking, or assisting clients with mobility. You should be able to safely navigate residential and community spaces.
- Hours: Flexible scheduling is needed, which may include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend shifts, depending on client and program needs.
