Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Handy Man to join our facilities maintenance team. This role involves performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks across our manufacturing and facility operations. The Handy Man will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for all staff and visitors.
Your Role
The duties of the Maintenance Worker include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for ensuring the property and product are in a condition that exceeds our guests’ expectations.
- Identify and rectify general maintenance issues within the property.
- Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
- Perform preventative maintenance & necessary repairs including completing Guestroom Preventative Maintenance Checklist, Deep Clean, repair orders such as replacing drywall, wallpaper, ceiling tiles, light bulbs and patching vinyl to maintain Hotel and keep property quality to standard and equipment, including kitchen, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical (Uncertified level of work).
- Applies preparatory materials, paints, and stains to surfaces of walls, ceilings, equipment, and furniture. Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
- Checks electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and makes repairs and/or replacements as needed.
- Performs maintenance to electronic locks, telephone systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks.
- Follows all company and job-specific safety policies, and reports any accident and/or hazard immediately.
- Make regular internal and external rounds of property to ensure that everything is in working order, repair & reporting any issues to the reporting authority.
- Maintain & monitor the Pool & Hot Tub and record data in timely manner.
- Monitor hotel’s fire alarm system.
- Accompanies inspectors, insurance representatives, the local fire marshal, or other officials on inspections of the property.
- Maintain work area, all equipment, and logbooks; Maintains all tools and equipment in the hotel.
- Respond to emergency situations including fire alarms, power failures.
- Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned by Management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Previous trade & technical experience with a general understanding of building maintenance and operation are an asset.
- Flexibility in working any shift as required, including evenings, weekends, on-call and holidays.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, safety awareness information, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence.
- Long periods of time spent standing, with frequent bending.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and individuals diplomatically while maintaining professionalism.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting high performance standards.
- Ability to follow instructions
Pay: $17.60-$18.25 per hour
