Job Title: Skilled Labourer
Location: Beechville, Nova Scotia
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (12–13 Weeks)
Compensation: $30.00/hour
Position Summary
This role is ideal for individuals with experience using hand tools and operating forklifts and scissor lifts who enjoy working in a fast-paced construction environment. Successful candidates will play a key role in assembling heavy-duty warehouse storage systems while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and install warehouse racking, shelving, and warehouse infrastructure.
- Build and install heavy-duty Pick Mod shelving units with a capacity of up to 2,200 lbs.
- Assemble T-bars, deck supports, washers, bolts, and related components using hand tools.
- Assist with the installation of racking systems up to 38 feet in height.
- Safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts as required.
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials throughout the project.
- Follow installation drawings, work instructions, and all site safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Skilled Labourer in construction, warehouse installation, or industrial projects.
- Experience operating scissor lifts or Skyjack equipment (certification considered an asset).
- Comfortable working at heights using elevated work platforms.
- Proficient with hand tools and basic power tools.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime after 48 hours)
- Saturday: Approximately 8-hour shift
- Site orientation required on the first day.
- Opportunity for a two-shift schedule as the project progresses.
Required PPE
Candidates must supply:
