RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Heading up the mechanical design of materials handling equipment for a number of different commodities including sand, cement, polypropeylene, and soda ash.
- Designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials
- Evaluating mechanical and electromechanical systems and products
- Confirming system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties
- Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators
- Attending and participating in HAZOPs, Model Reviews and Constructability Reviews as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Registered with APEGA as a P.Eng (Registration with PEO in Ontario is considered an asset)
- Must have 12+ years working as an Engineer specifically within the mechanical engineering discipline
- Extensive experience in the design and procurement of materials handling equipment for a variety of commodities is a must have.
- Previous experience in a construction support/RFI handling capacity
- Previous experience with different disciplines and their deliverables, such the Process Basis Design, Site Layout, P&ID’s, SLD, and Area Class is considered an asset
- Some project engineering experience is considered an asset
