The Role

Are you a designated actuary looking for a senior life & health (re-)insurance role?

Consider joining our close knit Canadian Pricing team with responsibility for pricing Canadian life business.

You must have the experience and competence to enable you to add value in areas outside your immediate area of expertise.

You will be a recognized expert on pricing and expected to make a significant contribution to the enhancement of PartnerRe’s Life & Health propositions.

As a technically excellent individual you will have the ability to be pragmatic and demonstrate commercial sense. A desire to experience new and challenging areas is a key requirement.

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas effectively. You should be capable of working in an international and culturally diverse environment. You must be someone who can work within a team, but also enjoys a high degree of autonomy.

You will be effective at managing multiple deadlines and capable of leading complex developments and/or projects independently.

Your responsibilities will include:
Manage the reinsurance pricing process resulting in timely offers that are consistent with established pricing guidelines.
Assist in the design and build out of Axis pricing models to support an efficient and accurate reinsurance pricing function.
Provide strong technical expertise in the development of pricing assumptions based on rigorous analysis of available data.
Participate in the development of product strategies and pricing bases for entry to new markets/new products.
Support the business development of the company by building and maintaining strong relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders.
Conduct analysis and research to ensure and enhance understanding of the competitive market environment. Attend and participate in relevant industry conferences and serve on relevant industry committees.

About you

To be successful in this role you bring the following attributes;

A qualified Actuary (FSA) with at least 8 years of Life or Health (re-)insurance pricing experience
A deep knowledge of mortality and/or morbidity risks, distribution and product structures
Experience in the AXIS actuarial projections system is required
Experience with statistical software (e.g. R) is desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French fluency considered an asset.
Occasional travel should be expected.
