Valcom Consulting Group Inc has an immediate requirement for qualified vehicle mechanics/technicians to augment our existing team in Petawawa. Work will be in the support and maintenance of the Canadian Army Equipment Readiness Program (CAERP) fleet of vehicles.
The technicians will be required at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa where tasks may include, but are not limited to, conducting inspections, diagnosis, and repairs on the CAERP fleet vehicles and their equipment and would include such vehicles as:
· Armored Heavy Support Vehicle System (AHSVS);
· Armored Bison
· Light Armored Vehicle 6.0 (LAV 6)
· Light Utility Vehicle Wheeled (LUVW)
· Medium Support Vehicle System (MSVS)
· Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle (TAPV)
· Tracked Light Armored Vehicle (TLAV)
· Light Support Vehicle Wheeled (LSVW); and
· Heavy Logistics Vehicle Wheeled (HLVW).
Work under this program may included, but would not be limited to:
· Perform vehicle mechanic and/or technician services involved in the inspection, servicing and repair of CAERP vehicle systems and subsystems;
· Perform installation and operation of test sensors and programmable data recorders used in conjunction with equipment testing;
· Assist DND technicians with required inspections, repairs, and modifications on the CAERP fleet vehicles.
· Conduct vehicle preparation, installation of hardware and flash of firmware for the installed equipment in CAERP vehicles in accordance with the DND supplied Installation Instructions;
· Review and interpret drawings and schematics required to conduct vehicle inspection, testing and validation.
Minimum requirements of the candidate to be successful would include:
1) Must hold a Certificate of Qualification to be a Truck and Coach Technician in Ontario or be DP2 Qualified Vehicle Technician / QL5, or an equivalent trade certification from another provincial regulatory authority.
2) Must have a minimum of 2 years cumulative experience conducting maintenance on commercial or military trucks.
3) Must be a Canadian citizen with at least 10 years in Canada and eligible to obtain a government of Canada security clearance.
Pay: $80,000.00-$97,000.00 per year
