Overview
Boreal Housing Foundation is seeking a dependable and hardworking Casual Maintenance Aide to assist with property, grounds, and facility maintenance on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining safe and attractive environments, and is flexible in supporting various maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform general property and grounds maintenance.
- Mow lawns, trim grass, water plants, and maintain landscaping areas.
- Remove weeds, debris, and litter from outdoor spaces.
- Clean and maintain common areas, storage areas, and facilities.
- Assist with minor maintenance and repair tasks as directed.
- Safely operate lawn care equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Assist with snow removal and seasonal property upkeep as required.
- Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Previous maintenance, landscaping, groundskeeping, or labour experience.
Required:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Assets:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- First Aid Certification.
