Design Sales Consultant
Cantu Victoria Showroom
Influence the Projects That Define High-End Residential Design
This is not a retail showroom role, and it is not built around inbound walk-in traffic.
At Cantu, projects are shaped long before a quote is requested. Our consultants work with designers, builders, contractors, and architects to introduce the right products early, bring technical insight into the conversation, influence specification decisions, and convert project potential into secured business.
We’re looking for a growth-focused Design Sales Consultant who can operate in that environment—someone who brings a clear point of view, understands how to contribute to complex projects, and takes responsibility for creating and advancing sales opportunities.
You will be assigned a portfolio of approximately 30-50 target accounts. That portfolio is a starting point—not a ready-made book of business. You are expected to create the activity, conversations, meetings, projects, and pipeline that turn those accounts into repeat business.
This is a full-time, onsite position based at Cantu’s Victoria showroom. It is not a hybrid or remote role. The showroom is the primary work base, but as you progress through training, the role expands to include client-office meetings, project-site visits, lunch-and-learns, and other market-facing activity.
What You’ll Do
Develop Assigned Accounts and Create Opportunities
- Proactively develop an assigned portfolio of designers, builders, contractors, and other target accounts
- Initiate commercially relevant conversations rather than waiting for inbound enquiries
- Create opportunities for showroom consultations, client-office meetings, project-site visits, and lunch-and-learns
- Position Cantu early in the project lifecycle through product knowledge, technical insight, and disciplined account planning
- Identify active and upcoming projects where Cantu is the right fit
- Maintain consistent outbound activity and follow-up across the assigned portfolio
- Convert account activity into qualified pipeline, active projects, secured business, and repeat revenue
- Identify and pursue new accounts where appropriate while maintaining primary focus on the assigned portfolio
Apply a Consultation-Style Sales Approach
- Lead client conversations with insight and a clear point of view
- Educate clients on product applications, constraints, and opportunities
- Challenge assumptions where appropriate and help shape stronger project solutions
- Balance design intent with technical feasibility to support confident decisions
- Qualify opportunities by understanding project scope, stakeholders, timelines, budgets, and decision-making processes
- Take ownership of advancing opportunities from initial engagement through close
Manage the Full Sales and Project Lifecycle
- Prepare detailed quotes and specification packages with a high level of accuracy
- Enter and manage orders, ensuring all required information is complete
- Coordinate with vendors, purchasing, warehouse, and project-management teams on lead times and delivery
- Maintain momentum through consistent client and vendor follow-up
- Manage changes, product alternatives, warranties, returns, and aftercare
- Own the administrative requirements of the full sales cycle, particularly during the first 12–18 months before coordinator support is introduced
- Remain accountable for opportunities from qualification through delivery and aftercare
Work Across the Showroom and Market
- Host structured, professional client consultations in the Victoria showroom
- Conduct external meetings with designers, builders, contractors, and project stakeholders as the role progresses
- Participate in project-site visits, client presentations, and lunch-and-learns
- Balance showroom responsibilities with ongoing account development and market engagement
How the Role Progresses
This position includes a deliberate onboarding and development process. Timing may vary based on demonstrated technical knowledge, accuracy, sales readiness, and performance.
- Months 0–3 — Product and Process Training: Build deep product knowledge while completing technical, process, and systems training. This includes products, finishes, specifications, rough-ins, installation considerations, quoting procedures, order processes, and internal workflows.
- Months 3–6 — Transactional Sales Exposure: Begin managing selected transactional inbound opportunities to apply product knowledge, develop quoting familiarity, and gain practical experience with Cantu’s sales and order processes.
- Months 6–12 — Sales-Cycle Ownership and Supported Account Outreach: Take increasing ownership of qualification, quoting, ordering, vendor coordination, delivery, and aftercare. Begin supported outreach and opportunity development within the assigned account portfolio.
- 12 Months and Beyond — Independent Account Development: Independently develop the assigned portfolio through proactive outreach, showroom appointments, client-office meetings, project-site visits, lunch-and-learns, account planning, and consistent follow-up. The expectation is to create qualified pipeline and build sustainable repeat business.
This is a long-cycle sales environment where commercial results build through consistent activity, sound judgement, strategic selling, and strong execution.
What’s in It for You
- A structured path into a high-value, design-driven sales environment
- Extensive product, technical, process, and systems training

- A role that combines strategic selling, technical knowledge, account development, and project execution
- A collaborative, process-driven team with strong operational support
- The opportunity to build meaningful commercial impact within Victoria's design and construction community
Compensation Structure
- Base salary of $65,000–$85,000 during the first 24 months

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are
- A B2B sales professional who can create opportunities rather than relying on inbound traffic or walk-ins
- Comfortable initiating outreach and engaging clients across multiple channels
- Commercially minded and interested in developing an assigned account portfolio
- Confident bringing insight and a point of view into client conversations
