Build the Team. Grow the Business. Own the Result.
For nearly 100 years, Union Tractor has supported Western Canada’s heavy-equipment industry. As we enter our next chapter, we are looking for a Sales Manager who can lead people, create accountability and turn sales strategy into consistent execution and profitable growth.
This is not simply a position for our best salesperson. We are looking for a sales leader who makes other salespeople better.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, development and performance of Union Tractor’s sales team.
The Director of Sales sets the overall commercial strategy, market priorities and growth objectives. The Sales Manager turns that strategy into action through coaching, account planning, pipeline management, performance management and disciplined sales execution.
You will work closely with Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure our customer commitments are supported by the entire organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead, coach and develop the sales team.
- Establish clear individual, territory and account-level expectations.
- Manage sales performance, KPIs and accountability.
- Develop strategic account and territory growth plans.
- Coach salespeople through major opportunities and negotiations.
- Drive revenue, gross-profit and margin growth.
- Increase share of wallet within key customer accounts.
- Build a disciplined pipeline and improve forecast accuracy.
- Ensure consistent CRM adoption and opportunity management.
- Participate in joint customer calls and strategic account reviews.
- Identify new market, customer and product opportunities.
- Work with Product Management, Supply Chain and Operations to align customer demand with inventory and operational capabilities.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success will be measured through profitable sales growth and the performance of the team you lead.
Key measures will include revenue and gross-profit growth, margin performance, strategic-account growth, pipeline development, forecast accuracy, CRM discipline, new customer acquisition, customer retention and individual sales-team performance.
Most importantly, we will continually ask:
Is the sales organization stronger because of your leadership?
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You may currently be a Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Product Support Sales Manager, Branch Manager, Major Account Manager or an accomplished senior salesperson ready to move into true leadership.
Heavy-equipment industry experience (10+ years) and management experience (5+ years) is required, particularly within mining, construction, equipment dealerships, aftermarket parts, undercarriage, GET, component rebuilds or industrial distribution.
You should bring:
- Proven leadership and people-development skills.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding.
- Experience managing revenue, margin and sales performance.
- Strategic account-management experience.
- Strong coaching and performance-management capabilities.
- Experience with CRM, pipeline management and forecasting.
- The ability to build relationships from the field to the executive level.
- A collaborative approach to working across departments.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
