Duffin's Donuts is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Baker to join our team.
The Baker will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including breads, rolls, cookies, turnovers, cakes, croissants, and icings and frostings. This position involves mixing and preparing doughs and batters, baking products according to established recipes, decorating baked goods, operating bakery equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality baked goods. Previous bakery, restaurant, or food service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Wage: Starting at $18.25 per hour, with higher pay available based on relevant baking and food service experience.
Availability: Candidates must be available to work evening and weekend shifts. Shift schedules may vary depending on production needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including breads, rolls, cookies, turnovers, cakes, and croissants
- Measure and mix ingredients to prepare doughs, batters, icings, and frostings
- Bake products according to established recipes, production procedures, and quality standards
- Frost, finish, and decorate cakes and other baked goods
- Prepare products for regular production requirements and special customer orders
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent product quality
- Ensure finished products meet Duffin's Donuts' quality and presentation standards
- Safely operate mixers, proofers, ovens, and other bakery equipment and machinery
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, utensils, baking tools, and equipment
- Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Inspect bakery production and food preparation areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Assist with organizing ingredients and supplies and advise when inventory is running low
- Work efficiently with other team members to complete daily production requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous bakery, restaurant, kitchen, or food service experience is preferred, but not required
- Experience preparing doughs, batters, breads, pastries, or cakes is an asset
- Ability to follow recipes and production instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product consistency and quality
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize production requirements
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices is an asset
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and follow established Duffin's Donuts recipes and production methods
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
