We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori certified teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be matured and experienced, have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic and social development of students. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each child's educational journey. Only AMS or AMI (MACTE approved) certified candidates will be considered.
Duties
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children under the Montessori curriculum.
- Assess student abilities, interest and needs and discuss progress with parents and other staff members.
- Prepare twice yearly progress reports and have regular conversations to update parents where needed.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- Plan and organize classroom and outdoor activities.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge and experience in the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy
- Excellent organizational skills for managing lesson plans, student records, and classroom materials.
- Time management abilities to balance teaching responsibilities with administrative tasks.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is required.
- Bilingual (French/English) preferred
- Leadership qualities to inspire and guide students towards achieving their goals.
