About the Position
Mida Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Erosion & Sediment Control Operations Manager to oversee field operations, manage installation crews, coordinate project schedules, and maintain strong client relationships. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys balancing field operations, project planning, and customer service while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Crew Management
- Organize, supervise, and support multiple installation crews.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure crews have the necessary equipment, materials, and project information.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and safety performance on job sites.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate field staff.
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain installation schedules for multiple projects.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions prior to mobilization.
- Anticipate scheduling conflicts and proactively implement solutions.
- Work closely with estimating and management teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution.
- Attend site meetings with developers, contractors, consultants, and municipalities.
- Provide project updates and address client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture among crews and subcontractors.
- Complete required documentation, inspections, and incident reporting.
- Ensure erosion and sediment control installations comply with project specifications and environmental requirements.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
- Track labor, equipment usage, and project progress.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3–5 years of construction supervision or project management experience.
- ESC experience in installs and planning. CIESC, CPESC
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and scheduling abilities.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other project softwares.
Preferred
- Experience in erosion and sediment control, environmental construction, landscaping, civil construction, or land development.
- Knowledge of ESC products and installation methods including:
- Silt fence
- Straw wattles
- Inlet protection
- Rock check dams
- Erosion control blankets
- Temporary stabilization measures
- Experience working with developers, municipalities, and consulting engineers.
- First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS, and other construction safety certifications.
