Non-Profit Fundraising Director
Location: Vancouver, BC
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
The Fundraising Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, planned giving, donor stewardship, and fundraising events. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader, relationship builder, and skilled communicator with a proven track record of fundraising success within the non-profit sector.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish revenue targets and fundraising objectives across all giving channels.
- Identify opportunities to diversify and grow funding sources.
- Monitor fundraising performance and prepare regular reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Manage the fundraising budget and ensure effective allocation of resources.
Donor Relations & Major Gifts
- Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, major gift prospects, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
- Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs.
- Lead donor meetings, presentations, and funding proposals.
Grants & Foundation Funding
- Research and identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and community organizations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of grant applications and reports.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and funding agreements.
Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and community partners.
- Secure sponsorship funding for programs, initiatives, and special events.
- Create partnership opportunities that align with organizational values and objectives.
Fundraising Events & Campaigns
- Lead annual fundraising campaigns and special events.
- Develop strategies to maximize donor participation and event revenue.
- Evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Team & Volunteer Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support fundraising staff and volunteers.
- Foster a collaborative and donor-centered culture.
- Work closely with marketing, communications, finance, and program teams to support fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive fundraising experience within a non-profit organization, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success securing major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and donor contributions.
- Experience developing and executing fundraising strategies and campaigns.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Experience using donor management and CRM systems.
- Strong budgeting, planning, and project management abilities.
